Kamandag Falls, Makilala
Kamandag Falls, Makilala Kamandag Falls is least explored falls in Makilala. In fact, there is no shed for overnight stay and stores to buy food. There is no official name for the falls but I named after the sitio where is is situated. It is located in the boundary of Davao and Cotabato Province specifically in Old Bulatukan. There are 9 Falls all in one river that make us exciting to visit and it is also a potable falls/river.
Old Bulatukan is 2 hours away from Davao City or 20 minutes away from Kidapawan City (the nearest city). If you are from Davao City, you can stop in the crossing after the boy scout camp or in crossing in front of MAABC (Mt. Apo Aliance Bible College) and ride a motorcycle(habal-habal) going to sitio Kamandag. The nearest falls is 30-minute hike from the road accessible by the motocycle. It is recommended that you will get a guide in residents there because the falls are hidden and for security reasons. From the first falls you will visit, it will take another 5 hours to view all the 5 falls. You will trek the path of the river, jump to the falls of about 5m to reach to the other falls. The tallest falls is about 20m high and it is not accessible to the bottom.
Cost Budget:
Fare(from Old Bulatukan) = P100 (back and forth)
Guide = depends on you (100 is enough)
. P100 + + food
Trail Summary:
9am = arrival in Old Bulatukan
10am = arrival in the first falls
4pm = time to leave

Mt. Apo
Mt. Apo is the highest mountain in the Phiippines and second in Southeast Asia. It rises 10, 311 feet above sea level with area of 72,796 hectares. There are many trails going to top such as Kidapawan, Makilala, Magpet, Bansalan, Digos. But the least time you arrive is via Kidapawan.
First Day. 8am from Lake Agco
In Kidapawan, the best starting point is the City Investments and Tourism Office located at city Plaza to have a registration and briefing for the climb. Registration fee is P250 if student or 500 if professional. Assuming that you are from Davao, take a ride of either Weena bus in Ecoland or Van in SM City and stop at the Kidapawan City Plaza. From City Investments, take a tricycle to the motorcycle(habal-habal) terminal bound for Lake Agco(a hot spring), Ilomavis. The ride will take 20-30 minutes in a limestoned road. Lake Agco guards can provide registered porters if you wish to. Porters cost P250 per day for a 30-kilo baggage. From Lake Agco, the nearest campsite is ____ which is 4 hours away. There's no much attration at the campsite, just at least 200 sq.mtr of flat space and a potable water. But on the trail, you'll cross the raging marble river and cool koong creek. Marble river can't be cross if there is heavy rain that will cause floods. I would suggest to beat the Venado camp site rather than staying at _____campsite. Venado campsite is only 7-8 hours of hike from Lake Agco so it's recommended that you should start hiking before 9 am at Lake Agco. The trail to Venado has a 90-degree stiff which you should grasp to roots of the trees and be cautious to your step as there are cliffs beside the trail.
Second Day. 9am
Venado is the 2nd campsite which is 7,200 feet above sea level. The area of Venado can hold as much 100 mountainers and has a potable drinking water. You can take a bath at the lake however, be cautious because the lake is undercurrent. It will only take 3 hours from the Venado to Peak. The peak is also a campsite which can also hold many mountainers.
And around 12 noon, Alas!!you did it!
Cost Budget:
Registration: 500
Porter: 250 x 3 = 750
Fare: to Lake Agco = 150 (Back and Forth)
1400 + food
Trail Summary:
9am = arrival in lake Agco
5pm = arrival in Lake Venado
9am = start climb to peak
12nn = Peak
*you can arrive early if you walk faster and less rest
